Pietà- Historical Tweet (Ovi by Nokia)

This is what I have in mind right now....

One of the famous sculptures during the Renaissance period is the Pietà, depicting the scene of the Christ on Mary’s lap after He was brought down from the cross.

This is the only sculpture of Michelangelo that has his sign, announcing that he made it. His action was prompted by a comment he overheard from someone during the sculpture installation to its new place that Pietà was someone else’s piece. He regretted his outburst and promised that he would never do the same thing again to his artworks.

As you can see in the photo, Mary here wore sash across her chest with Michelangelo's sign (Source: Wikipedia)

However, on the technical aspect (dimension) of the sculpture, do you know?

If the chaste woman (Mary) carrying the dead body (Jesus Christ) would stand up, she will have un-proportioned anatomical body of that of a normal person? While seated, observe her torso and compare it to the legs carrying the dead body. If she is standing, she would have smaller head and shorter torso but longer thighs and would have legs that are almost of the same length as that of the man’s she is carrying.

Make your own analysis if this claim is true.

On-Screen:

In Philippine Cinema, Pietà was an action-drama movie of 1983 starring the late actor Ace Vergel, the original “Bad Boy” of Filipino showbiz, and the late multi-awarded actress Charito Solis who played his mother. Ironically, it is the story of a mother’s agony over her son’s crooked path of life.

Ryan Agoncillo and Cherry Gill starred in the latest version of Pietà in television series in 2008

A good start for sharing your historical tweets...however, my only concern is that photos should be original which means that the images should be not be taken from the websites. Eventhough you acknowledged the source of the image, Im still worried that you violated copyright from wikipedia. You have to check this or ask for permission from wikipedia for allowing you to use the image... isang paalala lang kasi baka kasi mapansin ng wikipedia ito!

thanks, for your concern reymos.
Actually, yung info is from wikipedia an NOT exactly per letra na kinuha ko.

You can click the link and see if wikipedia has the same photo as mine.

Yung info about the size nya ay galing sa old architectural book.
Yung photo was from a usual post card, ang pangit nga ng scan e, kaya na photoshopped na sya.

Thanks, for dropping by.

thanks for the info. Just a little advice, mas maganda kung ilalagay mo rin kung saan galing ang photo kasi, tulad ko im thinking that the image is taken by you... so i think you have to mention that it was scanned/taken from a postcard (at the back of it, sometimes you get info on the photographer)...

Well, I dont want to argue with you of what you have posted in your own chat box ..."before we speak of COPYRIIGHT..please study the law on copyrights... dont speak about it..it will show your IGNORANCE"... Yan ang mahirap sa ating mga Pinoy, mapuna mo lang o mabigyan ng konting pansin, magrereact agad! Have you really understand of what you have written? Im just trying to give a little concern on how to do proper posting of images...

Thanks for the reaction reymos...

Be cool!

Are you telling me what to do and how to do things?

Ano yung tungkol sa CHATBOX ko? Hayaan mo yang chatbox ko... actually baka may copyright din yan...hehehehe! tapos paste sa comment...

chill out, man!

Naalala ko. Sinubukan kong i-drawing yung Pieta dati nung nasa HS pa ko. Successful naman but of course not as artistic as Michaelangelo's.

Anyway, about dun sa analysis mo. Narealize ko na rin yan dati. Since I'm into arts, observant ako sa mga ganyan. Mary looked like a very tall lady. Nagmukha tuloy teenager si Christ.

Thanks, for dropping by Enjoy.

Sana tinago mo yung drawing mo, may artistic value rin yun.....
